The Art – Science of Personal Transformation

We invite you to become the person you dream to be! For many of us there is a stark difference between how the world sees us and how we may see ourselves. Oftentimes, we are very lenient and forgiving when it comes to our own shortcomings and yet we perhaps over inflate our strengths. It takes honest self-reflection and introspection to fairly gauge our personalities and character. In truth, our personalities are merely what we believe ourselves to be through the false senses of the ego. This is part of the goal of meditation, which is to step “outside ourselves” for a moment to realize our True Essence, which is a perfect spirit.

This proves to be a challenge for most of us because we’ve been conditioned for so long to identify with our thoughts, our jobs, our families, our achievements and so on. However, these are truly part of the delusion of attachment and identification with matter. You are no more these “identifiers” than you are the clothes you change each and every day! Most of us feel though that if we didn’t have these personifications to make us different from everyone else then we would somehow cease to exist. In fact, the opposite is true. The more we are able to disassociate with the ego the freer our consciousness becomes and we are able to embody all the possibilities of nature without having to be limited by it.

This is a process that doesn’t typically happen overnight. There are yogic techniques to help one to still the restless mind and thus remove some of the binding veils that mask our true infinite potential. If this is an important hurdle you are currently facing in life then I encourage you to seek good readings on this subject matter. I also warn you to not become obsessed or consumed with every new fad or book that comes out “selling you” on how to become the perfect person. This is not what personal transformation is about. You can read books till the end of time and they won’t do you as much good as simply taking the time to look within and be alone in quiet contemplation.

Truthfully, you don’t have to “become” anything rather simply “realize” what you truly already are! Life is merely an outward reflection and expression of your consciousness, your thoughts and your actions. The best way to modify these variables is to learn to become still, seek the silence within your being and soon you’ll be able change certain behaviors because you will no longer see yourself as your behaviors but begin to understand that what you experience is a result of your choices which reflect your behavior.

Mahatma Gandhi perhaps said it best:

“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
your thoughts become your words,
your words become your actions,
your actions become your habits,
your habits become your character,
your character becomes your destiny!”

The Art, Science and Psyche Needed For Achievement

What do you see when you look at a super star of humanity like Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps or Lance Armstrong? What goes through your mind when you watch Michael Jordan play basketball, see Wayne Gretsky play hockey or observe Pele play soccer? All these super stars have something in common.

They have mastered the psyche of winning and have committed themselves for achievement.

Some say achievement in life, sports or other human endeavors is merely a mindset, yet we all know there is much more to it than that. We know it takes dedication and perseverance. Still, you yourself know that you possess the commitment to go the distance and wonder how come you have not achieved all you have wanted too in life, why?

Well, the reality is that there is an art, a science and a psyche needed for achievement. Some psychologists believe that a dominate compulsive disorder is causing ultra-achievers to work beyond the norm and to appear to us as over achiever super stars of humanity.

Perhaps, these psychologists stay gainfully employed tearing down the achievers of society and make the rest of us feel good about ourselves, as they write books and sell apes, DVDs and self-help material? I mean it is rather nice for someone to tell all the rest of us that it is okay that we have not reached our dreams and elevate our self-esteem, although we know it really isn’t okay to fail in our goals.

Setting your goals purposefully low is not a best management practice worthy of consideration. Setting them too high is only setting ourselves up for failure say psychologists, but is that really true? If these other people can do it, surely we all can.

  1. The Art: You Must, make your goals part of your fiber, part of what makes you unique. Create rituals that form into habits, as you go about attaining your goals during practice or work.
  2. The Science: You Must, believe to achieve, use psycho-cybernetics, visualize yourself achieving. You must set goals in incremental bites and treat each one of the smaller goals just as important as achieving the whole enchilada.
  3. The Psyche: You Must, commit yourself to excellence, never give up and have the perseverance and personal character to make your goal a reality. You must believe in yourself that you deserve to win and accomplish. You must be driven and you must dump all this chatter about compulsiveness or the excuses that psychologists offer, it is bunk.
